Alliance diplomacy: relation types and durations
Propose, accept, reject, or terminate relationships with other banners.
How it works
- There are 3 relation types: Friendship, Non-aggression and Hostility; proposing, accepting, rejecting and dissolving are done only by the Founder Khagan and Commanders.
- Friendship and Non-Aggression wait for the other side's acceptance and last a fixed 3 days; Hostility takes effect instantly and has no time limit.
- An alliance's Friendship and Non-Aggression rights are independent lifetime rights: an alliance can establish each of them only once for the whole world, with whomever it may be. The right does not come back when the treaty ends or is terminated early. Hostility is outside this limit; it can be declared again any number of times.
- An active Friendship blocks attacks and scouting between the two alliances' members; Non-aggression blocks only attacks and allows scouting; Hostility blocks nothing.
- Two alliances can have only one open relation (pending or active) at a time; a new proposal cancels the old one.
- Statuses: pending, active, rejected, cancelled (dissolved), expired; an expired relation closes automatically and its restrictions are lifted.
- The restriction is checked the moment you issue a march order; marches that departed before the relation was formed are not recalled.
Step by step
- Open the Diplomacy department in alliance management.
- Choose the target alliance and the relation type; if your lifetime Friendship or Non-Aggression right is used up, the option is marked.
- Send the proposal knowing this is a one-time right that cannot be undone.
- Accept or reject the incoming proposal if you are competent.
- Inform your members before ending the active relationship.
