Guest garrison: who owns reinforcement troops?
Ownership, states and return rules for reinforcements sent to an ally's village.
How it works
- Reinforcements arriving at an ally's village become a guest garrison; ownership stays with the sender and is never transferred to the host.
- Reinforcements go only to your own village or an alliance member's village in the same world; Steppe Archers, Spearmen, Mounted Raiders, Heavy Cavalry and Siege Masters can be sent. Börü Agents go only to your own villages and add to that village's lookout strength on arrival.
- They are sent with Send Reinforcements on the village card of the web map; in 3D, from the Atlas village card or with the Send reinforcements (banner ally) / Send support (your own village) button that appears when you tap a village on the 3D World.
- A food cost is paid on departure: soldiers × (2 + distance ÷ 180), rounded up; one march carries at most 5,000 soldiers per unit type.
- States: stationed, in battle, returning, destroyed, recalled; when the host is attacked, a stationed garrison joins the battle.
- After the battle the survivors march back to the origin village automatically; if every unit falls, the garrison counts as destroyed.
- On mobile and in 3D, if you choose Stay in position on a reinforcement to an alliance member's village, survivors do not return after the battle and defend that village until you recall them; it costs 56,000 gold from the depot of the village the troops leave (it used to be 100 diamonds).
- It cannot be recalled while in battle; only a stationed garrison returns via Recall and travels the same distance back again.
- A guest garrison does not count toward the host's army capacity; returning home from a foreign village is exempt from the capacity lock, and an overflow only blocks new training.
- A garrison that joins an alliance defence earns its owner contribution points: sent × 2 + attacker's losses × 8 × support share + survivors.
Step by step
- Select the ally's village on the map or in the village network and tap Send Reinforcements.
- Choose an amount from your idle units; check the food cost and the travel time.
- Send with Dispatch Reinforcements; the march appears in the Agenda.
- Track the status in the GUEST GARRISONS list in the War Room section of the Alliance screen.
- To take the soldiers back, tap Recall next to the stationed garrison.
If the target village is no longer allied or has been destroyed at the moment of arrival, the soldiers are returned to the origin village.
Only reinforcements that reach the village before the attack join the defence; late reinforcements do not change the result retroactively.
