Alliance ranks and permissions

An alliance has 4 ranks: Founder Khagan, Commander, Captain and Warrior; on top come 3 delegable permissions and up to 8 custom duty ranks.

How it works

  • An alliance has 4 fixed ranks: Founder Khagan (1 person), Commander (at most 5 Commanders), Captain and Warrior; everyone who joins starts as a Warrior.
  • Promotion moves one step at a time: Warrior → Captain → Commander; the Founder Khagan can do both steps, a Commander can only make a Warrior a Captain.
  • Demotion is also one step: Commander → Captain → Warrior; a Commander can only demote a Captain and cannot act on another Commander at all.
  • Captain is an honorary rank: it sorts above Warrior in the member list but carries no extra permission; permissions are granted through a custom duty rank.
  • Only the Founder Khagan can transfer foundership: the target member becomes Founder Khagan, the former founder drops to Commander, and the 5 Commander limit does not apply to this transition.
  • If the Founding Khagan does not log in to that world for 7 days, founder status passes automatically, through an hourly check, to a member who has played in the last 3 days: first a Başbuğ, then an Alpbaşı, then a Warrior; within the same rank the one with the higher overall score is chosen. The former founder becomes a Başbuğ (an Alpbaşı if all 5 Başbuğ places are full) and all members are notified.
  • There are 3 permissions: Member management, Alliance settings, Warehouse management; a Commander holds Member management and Warehouse management by default, the Founder Khagan holds all three.
  • Custom duty ranks are limited to 8 with names of 2-24 characters; only the Founder Khagan creates and deletes them, assigning requires Member management, and you can only assign permissions you hold yourself.
  • Reviewing applications and invitations, diplomacy and Alliance Army command are tied to rank: only the Founder Khagan and Commanders use them, and they cannot be delegated through a custom rank.

Step by step

  1. Open the WARRIORS list on the Alliance screen; each member's rank and any custom duty rank appear under their name.
  2. To change a rank, use the Make Captain, Promote to Commander or Make Warrior buttons in the member row; only the buttons your authority allows are shown.
  3. To grant permissions, go to Settings → CREATE NEW RANK, choose a name and permissions, and tap Create Task Rank (Founder Khagan only).
  4. In the MEMBER CLASSIFICATION section, pick the rank from the member's Duty rank menu; choose No duty to remove it.
  5. Verify the member's active permissions from the tags in the same row; if it says No extra permissions, they can only perform basic member actions.

Key numbers

Number of ranks
4 fixed ranks — Founder Khagan, Commander, Captain, Warrior
Commander limit
At most 5 — The sixth promotion is rejected by the server.
Custom duty rank
At most 8 — Name 2-24 characters; only the Founder Khagan creates and deletes them.

Diplomacy, applications and invitations, and Alliance Army command cannot be delegated through a custom rank; for these you must make the member a Commander.

Transfer Foundership cannot be undone: the moment you transfer, you become a Commander, and custom rank creation and the Alliance settings permission pass to the new Founder Khagan.
